Hillhead Farm is set up on the hillside of the nithsdale valley, with panoramic views of the lowther hills, ae forest and down towards the solway. The farm was once part of the buccleuch owned queensberry estate which stetches over 90,000 acres to the north of the farm. When you arrive up the winding lane the pods will come into view. The pod site itself is small with only three pods meaning a quiet and relaxing stay. Each pod has it’s own amazing view over the valley, so as you lay in bed you can look out and watch the clouds roll by.
The Dobson family have been farming at Hillhead since 2016 when they moved over the border from cumbria. They farm a herd of pedigree shorthorn cattle and a flock of north country cheviot sheep, not to mention the hens, horses, dogs and cats. The family are creating a sustainable farm, working with the land to create a productive business as well as a range of wildlife friendly habitats.
